I am a useless, garbage person.

I would have it no other way.

I’m not sure that I have ever contributed less to society than I did this weekend. I spent literally the entire time in doors with the shades drawn. I was essentially a Netflix vampire. I binge-watched an entire season of Parenthood. It just felt like the right thing to do at the time. The right amount of family love and drama. Perfect weekend watching!!!

WRONG-O. That show sends me in a tail-spin every daggum time. I can (& do) cry at some point during every episode. My relaxing weekend of solace and zen turned into a cluster of anxiety and feelings! How did this happen? How did I let Saturday and Sunday go by and spend its entirety in a ball of feelings on my couch???

Oh, because I’m a garbage person who loves her Apple TV that’s how.

Sweet Potato Chili

This week, though.

All in all, it’s been a pretty bleak week, personally. But in the pop culture world I choose to live 68% of the time, things are just stupid great.

To add to this week’s going list, Memphis win, Gilmore Girls episodes, now ADELE MUSIC?!?!?!? My heart is feeble, honestly.

I have a thing for Adele. It’s real & it’s personal. We are just connected on a really cerebral level. We’re both wildly talented and successful. She just happens to gloriously belt the things that are written in my old journals in kindergarten prose.

“Maybe he still likes me. I’ll go stand by his locker tomorrow.” – Me.

“I had hoped you’d see my face and that you’d be reminded that for me it isn’t over yet.” – Adele.

See? Peas in a pod.

My Garrett is HOME!!!!!!!! Did you hear me? HOME! After a month & a half of training, my bub is back in my puny arms.

Obviously I missed him more than life, but it’s a little odd adjusting to having another human being in the house again. Like, I forgot what a burden it was to have to close the door when I pee.

However, I feel so blessed I don’t have to take the trash out anymore. I don’t care what you say – I LOVE GENDER ROLES. Leave me in the kitchen while he tinkers on cars & mows the lawn & crap, please.

My blood pressure did soar a bit when I bought groceries for 2 again. Like, all the darn meat this man requires. I can’t. Are you sure you don’t want to go back to the woods & play some more, honey?

These were his welcome home gift. Because nothing says “I love you” like meat from a crock pot!
